The G20, also referred to as the Group of 20, is a governmental organisation made up of 19
independent nations, the European Union, and the African Union. It strives to address
important global economic concerns like international financial stability, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable development.
We have witnessed that there has been growing attention on the G20’s role in achieving SDGs . The major concern is to achieve economic stability and growth in developing countries like India.
The G20’s steadfast commitment to sustainability has resulted in progress and success of the United nation’s SDGs.
The G20's emphasis on Addressing climate change is one of the most important parts of
its commitment to the SDGs. SDG 13's focus on climate action places it at the top of the
international community's priority list. The Paris Agreement, which aims to keep global
warming far below 2 degrees Celsius, has received strong support from the G20.
The impact of these agreements in lowering carbon emissions and encouraging sustainable energy, however, is still under investigation. The SDGs' core goal is to reduce inequality and poverty. Members of the G20 have vowed to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth that benefits all facets of society.
Critics counter that income disparity still exists inside and among G20 countries.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought attention to the value of cooperation and global health.
The G20 has played a key role in organising pandemic response activities and committing
funding for vaccine delivery to low-income nations. Achieving SDG 3, "Good Health and
Well-Being," will require assessing the G20's long-term commitment to global health and

The outcome of G20’s Commitment to SDGs are promising. The G20 emphasis on building
global economic policies and fostering international cooperation. The nations under G20 have the potential to drive substantial progress towards achieving the 2030 SDGs Agenda.
As we move forward, it is essential for both member nations and the international community to hold the G20 accountable for their commitments and continue to work on how to better align their actions with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. It requires dedication and consistent efforts and collaborations of all the nations as well as businesses ,society and individuals to acknowledge and overcome the challenges. The Group of 20, can work toward building a more equitable and sustainable future and its continuous efforts will mould a better future for the world.
