DIGI YATRA - YOUR FACE IS NOW YOUR BOARDING PASS

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is adding a Digital experience for Air Travellers through DigiYatra Platform. In accordance with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's Digital India vision to transform the country into a digitally empowered society, the "DigiYatra" is an industry-led initiative coordinated by the Ministry.

DIGI YATRA - Digital processing of passengers at the airports. At checkpoints like; passengers will be processed automatically based on facial recognition systems, checking at the entry point, going through security, and getting on a plane. Self-Bag Drop and Check-In, which uses facial recognition to identify participants and recall data, will also be made easier by this. Digi Yatra will work with paperless travel and keep away from personality check at various places.

 

 

DIGI YATRA ENROLLMENT PROCESS: 

1. Passengers can generate a Digi Yatra ID by providing the following information in a centralized system:

• Name
• Email ID
• Versatile Number
• Subtleties of Character (Citizen Id, Driving Permit, Aadhar and so forth)  

2.  On accommodation, Digi Yatra Id will be made. This number can be used by passengers to book the ticket. The airlines will transmit passenger information, including Digi Yatra ID, to the departure airport.
3. The Pax must validate their ID at the airport's registration kiosk on their first trip.

• Online verification will be used for Aadhar. 
• The CISF will perform a manual verification for any other ID.

4.  The participant's picture will be added to their Digi Yatra profile in the central system once verification is successful.

 

 

PROCEDURES AT THE AIRPORT: 

1. Enter through the E-Gate (Gate No. Terminal 3 of 2A).

2. Scan the barcode on your Mobile Boarding Pass or Boarding Pass.

3. Look into the Face Recognition System (FRS) installed E-Door camera.

4. The E-Gate will open to let you inside the Airport once validation is successful.

5. When inside the terminal, drop your baggage at the aircraft registration work area. Proceed toward the DigiYatra Gate at Zone 1 PESC (near the Business Class entry) if you do not have any luggage.

6. Examine the E-Gate camera that is installed with the Face Recognition System (FRS).

7. The E-Gate will open to let you in for the security check once the validation is successful.

 

BENEFITS: 

1. Passengers don't have to show their boarding pass or ID at every checkpoint.

2. Minimal human involvement. Reduced waiting time.

3. As the passenger is mapped using the PNR, security is improved. At each checkpoint, legitimate passengers will be allowed entry.

4. Resource planning will be improved and airport operators will have real-time information on passenger load.

5. Aircrafts will be helped by realizing the traveler position in the air terminal.

6. The airport's capacity will be increased.
