Whenever I hear the word *consumer* the only thing which strikes in my mind is a *middle class section* of our country. A section which plays a very vital role in country's development. A section which accounts to the highest tax amount. A section which is the most affected from rise in price, corruption and other practices. Also a section which is most neglected in our country. This middle class section not only suffers from such evils but also are sometimes fooled by shopkeepers, stock exchange and many more. Some educated consumer raise their voice and some still consider it as the sheer wastage of time.
I would like to share my neighbour's experience where a shopkeeper betrayed her.
It was my sister's birthday and my neighbour decided to gift her an electronic piano.
So she went to a toy shop and purchased a piano. She didn't notice the maximum retailers price and gave him money as so he demanded. After a week in a conversation with my mother the price of keyboard was revealed. The price which my neighbour paid was very high to that of written in its outer box. I was too small at that time so I didn't know much about it. My mother and neighbour went to that shop again and asked the reason about the huge difference in the price. The shopkeeper replied that it is a Chinese product and the price written on keyboard is valid in that country. After coming to India some excise duty and shipping charges are added due to which price becomes double to that of original one. Well, my mother and neighbour was satisfied from the answer but whenever I remember the situation I troll my mother for it.
So now the question is *what is the solution of the problem?*
Being educated and an active youth it's our moral responsibility to tell the basic rights of consumers to our parents, neighbours and relatives. Maximum retailers price. Hall mark for purity, fssai licence number for food product, ISI mark all these things must be made clear.
Moreover the more knowledge will flourish
Fast these malpractice will get abolish.
